A2 Texts, 2008

Your Med 4 studies of Genre and Representation will involve you watching a range of film and television texts during class time. You will be expected to take detailed notes on each text. While the core texts will be screened in class, you will want to watch them each two or three times during the school year in order to have a confident working knowledge of them.

The texts are listed below to help you to plan your way through the course. In addition to the core texts, there are ten additional texts (five each for Genre and Representation) that we expect you to have studied in your own time and seen at least once. You will need to have a sound working knowledge of these texts and be able to write essays in which you discuss them. To help you, these additional texts will be screened in S4/5 at 1.30pm on the Wednesday afternoons shown below.

Please put these dates into your diary. Regardless of your home school, you are expected to attend these screenings and take notes independently. If you are unable to attend any of them, you must make your own arrangements to watch and make notes on the film by no later than the day of the school screening.
